We Don’t Have a Shopfront, and That’s Rather the Point.

Because when we’re selling your home, the important shop window isn’t ours. It’s yours.

If you’re thinking about selling your home and you’ve not heard of Belvoir Enfield before, you might have a fairly obvious question:

“Who are they?”

And if you’ve walked along Enfield’s high street looking for us, there’s an equally obvious answer:

You won’t find us there.

We don’t have a traditional estate agency shopfront. We’re on the second floor of Nicon House on Silver Street.

And yes, we know that’s a little different.

For years, an estate agent’s shop window was one of the main ways people found out about properties for sale. You’d walk past, spot a house in the window, pop in and have a chat.

But the way people search for homes has changed.

Today, most buyers start their search online, using property portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla, often searching by very specific criteria – location, price, number of bedrooms, garden, parking and much more.

So while a shop window can tell people who we are, it doesn’t necessarily put your property in front of the people most likely to buy it.

And that’s where our focus lies.

Your property is the shop window

We’d much rather invest our time in making your home stand out, with:

  • Great photography,
  • A floorplan that makes sense,
  • A description that tells the story of the property,
  • Video and social media,
  • Targeted online marketing,
  • Rightmove, Zoopla and our own website.

Because the important shop window isn’t ours.

It’s yours.

And not having a shopfront doesn’t mean we’ve appeared from nowhere.

Belvoir is a national property brand with 150+ independently owned offices across the UK. We’re a locally owned business, backed by a well-established brand, but with our focus firmly on Enfield and the surrounding areas.

Then there’s Nicon House…

Actually, we’re rather pleased that we don’t work from a conventional office.

Nicon House, at 45 Silver Street, is a wonderful old building with a story of its own.

Built in 1876, it was originally the Church School of Industry, which had been established much earlier, in 1806. It later became a boys’ preparatory school and, eventually, the home of the Enfield Gazette and its printing works.

Today it’s home to a collection of businesses – including us.

And just look at the stairs and that window.

The building is on Enfield’s Local Heritage List and is recognised for its architectural quality, landmark status and social history.

It’s also a pretty good reflection of something we like about property.

Character.

We’re naturally drawn to homes that have something about them. The Victorian terrace with original features. The converted church. The unusual extension. The house with the brilliant garden. The property that makes you stop and look twice.

Those homes need more than a list of rooms and measurements.

They need someone to notice what makes them special – and make sure buyers notice it too.

So, if you’ve not heard of us…

That’s okay.

We’re not trying to be the biggest estate agent in Enfield, and we’re not trying to have the biggest shop window.

We’re interested in doing a really good job for the properties we take on.

So yes, we’re upstairs.

But if we’re selling your home, we want your property to be everywhere it needs to be.

Because our office might be hidden away on the second floor.

Your home shouldn’t be.
